Student's status and upgrading statuses

- Classifying students. We will use the following to classify students. Some or all of these may apply. Every month each student will be evaluated and classified as an A, B, or C student.
- A students
- BBC or MC
- Make perfect attendance
- Come to special events
- Excited to be in class
- Focuses in class
- Stays on track for testing
- Makes perfect attendance every two or three months
- Come to some special events
- B students

- Likes class some times – Excited some times
- Focused most of the time
- Makes less than 4 classes a month
- Does not attend special events
- C students

- Unmotivated in class
- Unfocused in class
- Not progressing well (physically and mentally)
- Identifying students’ status.
- C students - A RED marker note will be placed on all C students’ attendance cards.
- B students - A GREEN marker note will be placed on all B students’ attendance cards.
- A students - NO note will be placed on A students’ attendance cards.
- Upgrading a C student to a B student
- Before Class
- Talk with the student and find out if he is having any problems in class. Try to address the problem in a positive manner.
- Talk to the parents to see if the student has expressed any issues with their training.
- Focus on helping the students in class overcome any obstacles they or their parents expressed before class. If necessary have them work in a small group or one on one with an instructor.
- Give them extra attention. Like high fives, thumbs up, smiles, pat on the back, etc…
- Talk to the student about how class went. Encourage him to keep up the good work.
- Answer any questions or concerns he expresses.
- Talk to the parent if necessary. Give the parent some hints on how to help their child succeed.
- If student is really de-motivated, tell the Chief Instructor.
- Call student or parent a schedule a meeting.
- Identify issues. Come up with solutions. Give them some private lessons or extra help.

- Encourage the student to get perfect attendance.
- Encourage the student to participate in special events.
- Try to re-motivate student about his training.
- Give them extra attention. Like high fives, thumbs up, smiles, pat on the back, etc…
- Talk to the student about how class went. Encourage him to keep up the good work.

- Highlight the student’s behavior and tie it to black belt. Example “Good focus Johnny you are going to make a great black belt with that focus”
- Keep student thinking about black belt.
- Let them know they are going to be a great black belt
4. Review your day and speak to the students about information necessary.
- Go home and relax you need the energy for another day.
